Chicago Employee—Selected Among 150,000+
To Be Honored in New Bill Marriott Book

Emmanuel Williams, a disabled employee at the Marriott Hotel on Michigan Avenue is one of only 36 employees featured in a new book by Bill Marriott called Spirit to Serve.  While it is primarily an internal publication, it is quite an honor for Mr. Williams to be selected among the 151,000 Marriott employees worldwide to be featured in this book.

Mr. Williams participated in a special Marriott program called Bridges from School to Work when he was 19.  Having difficulty walking and maneuvering through Chicago, the Marriott program trained him, found him a place to live, showed him how to use the CTA and provided a loan, which Mr. Williams has repaid.  He is currently a kitchen assistant at the Michigan Avenue Marriott and in his words, he "loves coming in on time, having good conversations, good laughs and above all, I love having a good job."
